Federal Assistance Award Data System (FAADS)
|
FAADS is not a web-based system. Rather, it is a stand alone system that allows for federal funding reports to be submitted directly to the Bureau of Census. Entered award by award, FAADS provides the award name, dollar amount, start and end date, etc. Census retrieves the information, and submits it to Congress. Congress uses the information to monitor expenditures from funded Federal programs. Occasionally, requests for data housed in FAADS are made by Federal agencies as wells as individuals and organizations in the private sector.
