What is the Great Lakes Earth Day Challenge?

US EPA is challenging residents, businesses and community organizations around the Great Lakes to collect and recycle electronic waste and to properly dispose of unwanted medicines. The Challenge is to collect a million pounds of e-waste for proper management and a million pills of unwanted medicines for responsible disposal during Earth Week 2008. Why do you have a blog about this?

The purpose of this blog is to provide personal insights from EPA employees and guest bloggers into how we approach Earth Day, and how Great Lakes communities are participating in the Challenge.

Is this an ongoing blog?

No, it’s just for six weeks, leading up to Earth Week and continuing a little longer so we can report the results of some of the collection and recycling events.
