- On May 11, 2004, the Department of Commerce employees assigned to respond
to the petition filed by the Copper & Brass Fabricators Council, Inc.,
and the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society, which requests export monitoring
and controls on the shipment of copper scrap, visited two brass foundries
in Pennsylvania. Additionally, on May 12, 2004 they visited two scrap yards;
one in Pennsylvania and one in New Jersey. The purpose of these visits was
to gain a better understanding of the copper scrap processing industry through
the observation of different aspects of copper scrap processing.
- On May 6, 2004, the Department of Commerce employees assigned to respond
to the petition filed by the Copper & Brass Fabricators Council, Inc.,
and the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society, which requests export monitoring
and controls on the shipment of copper scrap, visited a scrap yard in Lorton,
Virginia. The purpose of the visit was to observe a scrap handling facility
to gain a better understanding of the copper scrap processing industry.
