FY 2007 Performance and Accountability Report

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2007 Performance and Accountability Report (PAR) identifies the progress the Department of Commerce has made to maximize U.S. competitiveness and enable economic growth, foster science and technological leadership, and to promote environmental stewardship. It provides an accounting of the Department’s financial and program results, enabling the President, Congress, and the American people to assess the Department’s performance.

Management Discussion and Analysis 

This section provides an overview of the financial and performance information contained in the Performance Section, Financial Section, and Appendices. It includes an overview of the Department’s organization, highlights of the Department’s most important performance goals and results, the current status of systems, and internal control weaknesses. It also includes other pertinent information, such as the progress being made by the Department in implementing the President’s Management Agenda (PMA) and the key management challenges identified by the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
