America Needs You. Buckle Up. In 2006, the vast majority of the fatal crashes involving large trucks (85.2%) and of the nonfatal crashes (87.9%) occurred on Monday through Friday.

For more information on each menu item see descriptions below.
SafeStat Online
Delivers SafeStat Carrier details as well as national, service center and state summary SafeStat run results. SafeStat online also links results with the SafeStat methodology so users can gain an understanding of SafeStat and its use of relevant safety data.
Crash Statistics
Delivers statistics summarized on a state level containing Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) data and crash data reported by the states. The statistics are represented in state profile summaries in the following focus areas: Summary, Vehicle, Driver, Environment, Crash, Carrier, and Maps. State Profiles are provided for the most recent five years. State Profiles features dynamic colorful state maps highlighting the large truck crash location data. National Crash Profile Reports are also available online.
Program Measures
The Program Measures Module includes summarized statistics for three FMCSA Safety Programs: Compliance Reviews, Roadside Inspections, and Traffic Enforcement. All Activity for each Safety Program is reported on a national and state level. Currently available online are:
  • Updated Compliance Reviews - National, State Comparison and State Profile reports
  • Updated Roadside Inspections - National, State Comparison and State Profile reports
  • Updated Traffic Enforcement - National, State Comparison and State Profile reports
A fourth sub-module, Program Effectiveness, provides information on the effectiveness of the programs in terms of reducing crashes involving large trucks and buses.
NAFTA Safety Stats
The NAFTA Safety Stats Module includes census information and safety event statistics on the U.S operations of interstate and intrastate carriers registered in the U.S. Whereas census information, specifically, includes data on interstate and HM intrastate motor carriers with an active U.S. DOT number and Mexican carriers with OP-2 authority to operate in the commercial zone, safety event data includes carriers with interstate and intrastate operations. The information and statistics are presented based on the carrier's domicile within each of the three North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Data are available on Roadside Inspections, Compliance Reviews, Traffic Enforcements and Crashes for 2004-2008. Border Crossing data is provided for 1997-2006, along with trade data for 2002-2007.
Passenger Carrier Safety Module
Updated monthly, the new Passenger Carrier Safety Module is a one-stop source for safety information about carriers operating motor coach, school bus, van/mini-bus, and limousine services. The new module was designed to help school trip planners, senior citizens groups, community groups and businesses make more informed buying decisions. Improved access to passenger carrier safety information raises awareness and promotes private and public actions to improve commercial passenger vehicle safety.
Data Quality
The Data Quality Module presents - in one place - FMCSA resources that allow users to monitor and improve the quality of data submitted by States to the Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS). The module allows users to obtain the data quality evaluation results of State-reported crash and roadside inspection data, link to the DataQs website, an electronic means for filing concerns about Federal and State data released to the public, and access reports for analyzing data quality issues.
NEW FMCSA Tools locked file
FMCSA Tools includes information resources available on A&I Online that are only accessible to FMCSA and State partners via a UAS account.
Analysis Results and Reports
Analysis Results and Reports (AR&R) is a collection of analytical reports on motor carrier safety developed by the FMCSA. These reports document recent studies on truck and bus safety. AR&R provides links to publications with FMCSA current analysis results and includes the following reports: SafeStat Methodology, Large Truck Crash Facts, FMCSA Safety Program Effectiveness Models, Motor Carrier Industry Safety Profile Studies, and many more! Provides links to publications with FMCSA current analysis results. This module includes The SafeStat Effectiveness Study, New Entrant Study, Fleet Survey Study, Roadside Inspection Selection System (ISS)-D Report, and Analysis Briefs.
