Host an Instructor-Led Training (ILT) Course
If the course you would like to host is an ILT course, fill out this form.

As a resource to assist you in your preparations to host an NHI course session, we have created the Local Coordinator Checklist and an Instructor Checklist. These checklists will provide you with various items to consider before, during, and after your training session. Please follow the guidelines in the Certificate Print Fonts/Sizes reference guide when filling out certificates of attendance. Here is a sample template.

We have also provided an Orientation for new hosts or those looking for a refresher on NHI policies.

Host a Web-Conference Training (WCT) Course
If the course you would like to host is a WCT course, fill out this form.

NHI conducts quarterly NHI Host and Local Coordinator Web Conferences to help keep hosts informed of changes NHI is making as well as get feedback. Following each Web Conference, we post the presentations and action items here.

Every NHI course has a specified training type that will determine which host request form you will need to fill out. To look up your course's training type, find your course in our training catalog. The course's training type is listed under Training Type. To return to this page click Host a Course on the submenu bar.

FHWA Reserved Seats
Please note that 3 seats in all NHI sessions are held for FHWA employees. FHWA employees will enroll in the NHI session via the Department of Transportation electronic learning management system. If the 3 seats have not been filled within 3 weeks prior to the start of the session, the hosting agency can release those seats to other participants. To learn whether the 3 FHWA seats are being used for your session, contact your local FHWA Training Coordinator. His or her e-mail and telephone number are listed on the NHI Web site posting for your session.

FHWA Training Coordinator Orientation
At the request of session hosts/local coordinators and FHWA training coordinators, NHI prepared a 20 minute orientation for FHWA Training Coordinators regarding NHI training. FHWA Training Coordinators in the Divisions and Headquarters have contributed to the development of this overview and best practice suggestions!

Cancellation Policy

Hosts
The host of an NHI course must contact the NHI Training Manager at (703) 235-0520 for approval to cancel a course for any reason. Cancellation is requested no later than 10 working days prior to the course start date to avoid incurring any fees. If the course materials have been sent, the host must return the materials to the FHWA Report Center. In the event of cancellation for any reason, it is the host's responsibility to contact all participants via e-mail and telephone. There must be validation that registrants received cancellation notice. Notice to out-of-State/traveling participants is especially important to avoid charges for travel. If notification of cancellation occurs less than 10 days prior to the start date of the course, travel costs for the participants may be the responsibility of the host. The host should contact an FHWA Training Coordinator or the NHI Scheduler to obtain the list of FHWA enrollees and their contact information for notification of the cancellation.

Participants
If you need to cancel your enrollment in a session, you must contact nhitraining@dot.gov and the host of your session no later than 7 days prior to the course start date to avoid incurring any fees. Contact information for your session host can be found on your session order confirmation as well as the session's information page on the NHI Web site.
