Additional resources
The AIAA Student Programs Department created the Careers in Aerospace booklet to provide students with expert information about careers in aerospace engineering. Topics include course planning from high school to the college level … a broad sampling of career paths one might choose to follow … and complete information on the many programs AIAA offers to support students as they pursue degrees in aerospace engineering. Students also learn how AIAA's programs and benefits not only continue, but expand in their support as students become aerospace professionals. Contact AIAA Student Programs to request a copy of this booklet.

The AIAA Young Professional Committee prepared an Aerospace Career Handbook to provide information about the different industry sectors within aerospace and the types of jobs available to aerospace professionals, what young professionals can expect as they embark on their careers, and how young professionals can maximize the opportunities during their college years.

The Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator Can Be a Good Tool:
Effective career planning and development allows you to navigate an ever-changing industry. An increasingly important key to today's workplace is the ability to work with and lead a diverse group of personalities and talents. Regardless of where you are in your career, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can help you understand yourself and those around you. Over the 60 years since it's inception in 1943, the MBTI has evolved and been perfected through continual research and testing; it is considered to be the most reliable and valid personality assessment tool in use today.

Visit the Myers & Briggs Foundation to find tips for everyday life, sources for further reading and the history and composition of the instrument itself:
www.myersbriggs.org

Find a qualified counselor or center at which to take the MBTI near you:

Or, take the official MBTI online:

Free on-line questionnaire based on the MBTI:

You may also take the MBTI at selected AIAA conferences. Please consult your conference program for Career Enhancement activities and workshops, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

We hope that these resources help with your job search or just staying marketable in your filed of expertise. Please forward any comments, questions or recommendations on the Career Resources to Chris Horton at 703/264-7500.
