Hotline Information

OIG Hotline

The OIG operates a hotline to receive and process allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse concerning DOL grants, contracts, programs and operations. The OIG also addresses allegations of criminal activity and serious misconduct involving DOL employees. Moreover the OIG has jurisdiction to investigate allegations of labor racketeering and organized crime influence in the workplace, including the misuse of union benefit plan assets or power, labor-management relations, and internal union affairs.

You do not need to provide your name or any other identifying information in order to file a complaint with the OIG Hotline. However,

Moreover, when you contact the OIG Hotline, please provide as much detailed information as possible concerning your allegations, including:

  • who is involved,
  • when the situation you are reporting took place and whether it is still ongoing,
  • where the situation occurred,
  • what happened that was inappropriate and prompted you to contact the OIG Hotline, and
  • how the situation took place.

If you have any questions about DOL-related issues that do not involve fraud, waste, or abuse concerning DOL grants, programs, operations, or contracts, or if your concerns do not appear to be within the jurisdiction of the OIG, you can contact DOL’s National Call Center for further assistance. DOL’s National Call Center can be reached at 1-866-4-USA-DOL. The National Call Center can provide answers and refer callers to appropriate DOL agencies regarding questions concerning job loss, business closures, pay and leave issues, workplace safety and health related concerns, pension and health benefit related matters, and concerns involving workplace injuries.
