AHRQ National Advisory Council to Meet March 29

Media Advisory: March 25, 2002

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Healthcare Research and Quality will meet on Friday, March 29, 2002. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) on matters related to AHRQ's customers and health services researchers.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs, and initiatives including the FY 2003 budget and the role of the Agency in improving health care quality. The Council will discuss these specific topics: Disparities in Health Care, Bioterrorism, and Priority Populations Inclusion Policy.
