AHRQ National Advisory Council To Meet April 2

Media Advisory: March 26, 2004

The National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality will meet on Friday, April 2. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on matters related to AHRQ's customers and health services researchers.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs, and initiatives. The Council will discuss these specific topics: building the science base for evaluating the effectiveness of health care interventions, the HCAHPS program, and the Agency's new mission. An overview of the Council, directions to the AHRQ offices, and the meeting agenda are available on AHRQ's Web site at http://www.ahrq.gov/about/council.htm.
