AHCPR National Advisory Council to Meet February 12

Media Advisory Date: February 4, 1999

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Health Care Policy, Research, and Evaluation will meet on February 12, 1999. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Administrator of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) on matters related to AHCPR's activities. The NAC is comprised of representatives from academia, health services researchers, health care providers, consumers and people familiar with the business, legal and ethical aspects of health care (Select for an Overview of the Council).

The meeting will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs and initiatives. The Council will discuss these specific topics: outcomes of outcomes research, HCUP QI, National Guideline Clearinghouse™, national quality measures and data centers. Copies of the meeting agenda will be available to the members of the press prior to the meeting. The agenda also will be available on AHCPR's Web site no later than February 1, 1999.
