The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Healthcare Research and Quality will meet on Friday, November 3, 2000. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) on matters related to AHRQ's activities. The NAC is composed of representatives from health care plans, providers, purchasers, consumers and health services researchers.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs and initiatives. The Council will discuss these specific topics: AHRQ's Evidence-based Practice Centers, patient safety, translating research into practice and the Office of Priority Populations Research.
