Information Now Available on Children's Mental Health

A report on children's mental health now is available from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The report, entitled Children's Mental Health: The Changing Interface Between Primary and Specialty Care was developed through the Children's Mental Health Alliance Project (CMHAP) and funded by AHRQ and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. A 4-page summary of the report, produced by the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, also is available.

The CMHAP was created to provide a forum for discussion of the important issues affecting delivery of children's mental health services in primary care settings, the coordination of care between primary and specialty care settings, and to assess the current state of research and evidence. This report summarizes the discussion and recommendations of experts brought together for a large consensus conference in November 1998, as well as a year-long dialogue with clinicians, researchers and families.
