AHCPR National Advisory Council to Meet July 9

Media Advisory Date: July 1, 1999

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Health Care Policy, Research, and Evaluation will meet on Friday, July 9, 1999. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Administrator of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) on matters related to AHCPR's activities. The NAC is composed of 17 private-sector representatives from health care plans, providers, purchasers, consumers and health services researchers, and 7 representatives from other Federal agencies (Select for an Overview of the Council).

The meeting will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs and initiatives. The Council also will discuss these topics: inclusion of children in research, aging health services research and building a community of researchers.

Date: Friday, July 9, 1999
Location: 6010 Executive Boulevard, Fourth Floor Conference Center, Rockville, MD 20852.
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
