AHCPR National Advisory Council to Meet November 5

Media Advisory Date: November 2, 1999

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Health Care Policy, Research, and Evaluation will meet on Friday, November 5, 1999. The Council provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Administrator of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) on matters related to AHCPR's activities. The NAC is composed of representatives from health care plans, providers, purchasers, consumers and health services researchers.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin with an update on the status of the Agency's current research, programs and initiatives. The Council will discuss these specific topics: future programs and initiatives, information technology, health care errors, and the role of qualitative methods in health services research.
