Army Chief of Staff Gen. Erik K. Shinseki announced today the following assignments:
Army Brig. Gen Michael L. Combest is being assigned as chief, Requirements and Programs Branch, Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Policy, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe and deputy commanding general, U.S. Army NATO, Belgium. Combest is currently serving as assistant division commander (Maneuver), 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
Army Brig. Gen. John A. Yingling is being assigned as commander, Joint Task Force-6, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Fort Bliss, Texas. Yingling is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Army Reserve Command, Fort McPherson, Ga.
