Adding the 'What's New' Ticker to your Website

Interested in adding a list of the latest updates to MaizeGDB to your own website, perhaps to your personal homepage that you use each time you open your browser? It's very easy to do.

All you have to do is add the following code snippet to your web page any place that you want to include the ticker.

<script language="javascript" src="http://www.maizegdb.org/new.php"></script>

We'll take care of the rest. After you add the script, each time that you load the page, a piece of text like this will be inserted into your page:

New at MaizeGDB

July 5: Attempts are being made to make XML displays useful to all, using the probe record as a model. When you visit a probe record, you can see both a stylized and a plain XML display. Let us know if you have any comments.

July 1: Record displays now have a "printer-friendly" option that eliminates some portions of the interface for better & smoother printing.

June 28: The "Anything" search has been rewritten; now, when there is only one match in the entire site, you are redirected there automatically.

June 27: Large number of changes today. These are summarized in this changelog.

See older updates...

If something happens to the script in the future and it no longer works (this will possibly happen when we become fully open to the public), just come back to this site to retrieve the fixed code.

Note: This does not work on older browsers. It works on Mozilla and Internet Explorer 5 and above. Netscape users are recommended to upgrade to Mozilla, which is the freely available open source version of Netscape.
