NTIA filed comments in the FCC's ET Docket No. 03-122 proceeding, Revision of Parts 2 and 15 of the Commission’s Rules to Permit Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) Devices in the 5 GHz Band. NTIA has released a Report to Congress mandated by the Children's Internet Protection Act of 2000 (CIPA). According to the report, currently available technology measures have the capacity to meet most, if not all, of educational institutions' needs. The report also recommends that vendors offer training services to educational institutions, and that the definition of "technology protection measures" be expanded to encompass a wider array of technologies.
