David T. Murray Appointed Senior Advisor to NTIA Administrator John Kneuer

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- David T. Murray today was appointed Senior Adviser to Assistant Secretary John Kneuer for the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
 
“I am excited to have Dave Murray join our team at NTIA,” said Assistant Secretary John Kneuer.  “At such a critical time for the agency, we are fortunate to have Dave’s knowledge of the telecommunciations industry and the important issues before us.”   

Mr. Murray joined the Department of Commerce in 2005 as Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs Director for the Economic Development Administration before assuming his current post. Prior to coming to the Department, he was Vice President of Government Affairs for the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA), representing the consumer satellite industry.   He held similar positions with Winstar Communications and the Personal Communications Industry Association.  Before his work in the communications industry, Mr. Murray was a legislative aide to Congressman Sam Johnson of Dallas, Texas. 

He holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and resides in Washington, D.C.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration is the President's principal adviser on telecommunications and information policy issues.
