Position Title / GS Level / Location:  Human Resources Assistant (Performance Management), GS-6/7, Human Resources Division, GWCC, Beltsville, MD

Duties of position:  This position is located in the Employee Development, Performance and Recognition Section of the Research, Education and Economics Services Branch, Human Resources Division, Administrative and Financial Management, Agricultural Research Service.  Responsibilities include working with senior specialists in providing technical support and management services concerning the performance management system (performance and awards).  Assists in the establishment of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for performance management and awards, as needed.  Provide assistance to staff members in reviewing and processing annual performance and appraisals awards.  Prepare “calls for nominations” for various awards programs.  Reviews nominations prior to submission to the selection committee to ensure necessary information and documents are included.  Assists in managing, coordinating, and/or planning agency level recognition ceremonies, as well as special presentations that may be required by management officials.  As required, maintains and provides data concerning the various programs.  Work with private vendors to execute recognition ceremonies or to order award items/supplies.

Duration of Assignment:  12 weeks             

Start Date:  February 4, 2008

Funding arrangements:  Requestor pays salary.  A temporary promotion will be considered if candidate is eligible as determined by the Human Resources Division. Position is full time.  No travel will be paid.
