Nathan Froehlich Pleads Guilty to Two Misdemeanors
St. Anthony resident Nathan S. Froehlich pleaded guilty to one count of worker’s compensation insurance fraud and one count of failure to keep a worker’s compensation insurance policy, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Fourth District Judge Ronald Wilper sentenced Froehlich to 180 days in the county jail. The court suspended 90 days of the jail sentence. Froehlich also received two years of supervised probation and must reimburse the state for the court costs and fees. Read the full news release.
Former Teton Valley Couple Sentenced For Conspiracy to Commit Insurance Fraud
Former Driggs residents Joe Lene Kuntz and Edward Bruschi were sentenced for conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Sixth District Judge Jonathan Schinderling sentenced Edward Bruschi, on Tuesday, to probation, with 90 days of discretionary jail time and 100 hours of community service, and ordered him to be jointly liable with Joe Lene Kuntz for repayment of $49,206 in fraudulently-obtained worker’s compensation benefits. Kuntz was sentenced to probation in November 2008. Read the full news release.

Roy Lyons Sentenced for Misdemeanor Assault
Roy L. Lyons, 45, of Homedale entered a plea of guilty to misdemeanor assault and was sentenced today in Second District Court in Grangeville. District Judge John Bradbury sentenced Lyons to 90 days in the county jail and ordered him to pay a $300 fine. The court suspended 45 days of the jail sentence and ordered Lyons to serve 2 years probation.  Read the full news release.

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar’s decision to immediately remove wolves in Idaho and Montana from the endangered species list was the right decision for Idaho and for Idaho wildlife, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Read the full news release.
Attorney General Declines to Charge LCDC Chairman
The Attorney General’s Office has concluded an investigation of allegations of conflicts of interest regarding Lake City Development Corporation (LCDC) chairman Charles Nipp. Attorney General Lawrence Wasden’s office notified Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney Barry McHugh that the Attorney General will not be filing criminal charges.  Read the full news releaseRead the letter to the prosecutor and the investigator's report.

Drink Makers to Change Weight Loss, Calorie-Burning Claims
Attorney General Lawrence Wasden joined 27 other attorneys general in a settlement with Coca-Cola, Nestle and Beverage Partnership Worldwide, the makers of a green tea beverage called Enviga. The settlement resolves questions about the marketing of Enviga, which implied that drinking the beverage would burn extra calories, resulting in weight loss. Read the full news release.

Attorney General’s Office Recovers More Than $900,000 for Idaho Consumers
The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division completed 39 enforcement actions in 2008, nearly double the number of a year ago. Bank Card “Phishing” Scams with New Twists Target Idahoans
Criminals trying to obtain credit and debit card numbers have expanded their attack on Idaho consumers, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden warned. Idaho First Bank in McCall has informed the Attorney General’s Office that numerous people have contacted the bank to report suspicious e-mails, text messages and cell phone calls.
