Judge Denies Entergy’s Attempt to Hide Records

Oct. 23 - United States District Judge William H. Barbour denied Entergy’s attempt to stop Attorney General Hood from seeking to obtain records of their energy purchases, clearing the way for the Attorney General’s Office to demand their release before a state court on Monday.  The Attorney General’s Office contends that these records will show the same self-dealing as the courts found against Entergy in Louisiana.

Attorney General Makes Additional Arrests for Staging Accident

Oct. 21 - Three additional suspects have been arrested for their alleged involvement in staging a car accident in Yazoo County for the purpose of collecting insurance money, announced Attorney General Jim Hood.  The accident took place on August 12, 2008 at the intersection of Midway Gin Road and Highway 432 in Yazoo County. Local ambulance units (AMR), fire departments, the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene where nine people claimed to be injured.
