Ag Day at the Capitol is March 11, Make Plans to Attend
Ag Day at the Capitol will be March 11 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison. Ag Day at the Capitol is the largest gathering of farmers from across the state representing a variety of farm commodities groups to learn more about state issues, and meet with their elected officials. Farm Bureau Urges Members to Keep Atop of Estate Tax Changes
The estate tax is commonly referred to as the ‘death tax’. It is a tax on accumulated wealth that is imposed at the time property is transferred following a death. It is based on the value of the estate, without consideration for the amount received by any beneficiary or the relationship between the deceased and the beneficiary (although transfers to a surviving spouse may be exempt from an estate tax).
