Dear Mr. Hawley,

thank you a lot for your insightful post. I am wondering what your response would be towards privacy concerns that have recently been raised with respect to Passanger Name Records, e.g. here:

As it seems, data protection is non-existent...

Have you told folks yet that your Dept. just recently gutted the entire Real ID act by moving back the implementation to 2015....?

And that you no longer will need to show good ID to travel...

I would strongly rethink this...We are about to bring back Sensenbrenners bill.

I personally can not wait until this fas been fully implemented. As one whose name is tagged and can not get advanced boarding passes and happens to travel significantly, you can't implemented fast enough. BTW when I used the TSA system to try to get off the list, it actually made it worse and now includes me in one of the only two airlines that did not tag me previously. I know even some air marshalls are flagged under the current approach which defeats the entire purpose of doing it.
