2. The Guam Business Community is just recovering from the effects of Supertyphoon Pongsana. Will I be allowed more time to complete and return the census forms?

Yes, the census due date has been extended from February 12 to March 12 for Guam. If you need more time, contact us.

Enumeration materials were printed and assembled months ago and references February 12 as the census due date. However, due to the effects of the Supertyphoon the Census Bureau has changed the original due date of February 12 to March 12 for Guam. If you have questions, contact us.

4. What is the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)?

The 2002 Economic Census of Guam will use for the first time the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). NAICS is the system that replaces the old Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system used in 1997 and earlier censuses. NAICS identifies more industries that contribute to the economy, specifically services. It groups businesses with similar production processes. NAICS is updated every 5 years. If you would like more information about NAICS, visit us at www.census.gov/epcd/www/naics.html.
