Project Description: The practice-based research and organizational assessment products developed in this project will produce information that:
- Is relevant and useful to health care policymakers, payers, providers, and consumers.
- Can be applied in other health care organizational settings.
- Will help address the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ's) response to challenges of organizational research.
Career Goals: Dr. Orzano, a family physician and faculty member, seeks to accelerate the development of a family physician faculty member into a generalist, practice-based researcher with a specific focus on enhancing the organizational capacity of community practices to provide safe, evidenced-based care to their patients.
Progress to Date: Dr. Orzano is Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has completed a two-year National Research Service Awards (NRSA) Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Primary Care/Health Services Research and Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) program in 2000, focused on improving preventive service delivery in primary care practice.
Future Plans: Continue analysis and plan for additional primary data collection and analysis.
