More broadly, the Quarterly Services Survey will be used to produce a new economic indicator. An economic indicator is a statistical figure that is used to track growth and decline of economic activity in specific segments of the economy over time. Government agencies will use it to produce more accurate data. Policy makers will also utilize it.
