The Central Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Park Service is administerning a construction project to improve 9.58 miles (15.41 kilometers) of Trail Ridge Road at several location along the route. The improvements consist of pulverizing, asphalt surfacing, subexcavation, compaction grouting, and slope repairs.
A construction contract was awarded to Kiewit Western Company (Littleton, Colorado) on December 12, 2006 for the contract amount of $10,193,005.00.
