On November 22, 2006, a confined vapor cloud explosion destroyed the CAI/Arnel ink and paint manufacturing facility. Extensive community damage occurred and a number of residents were hospitalized. The CSB final report was approved by a Board vote at a public meeting in Danvers, MA on May 13, 2008. The report included recommendations to the Commonwealth, the town, the company, and voluntary standards organizations.
