Photos of Mammoth Mountain, Long Valley Caldera

Mammoth Mountain straddles the southwest rim of Long Valley Caldera. It is the largest post-caldera volcanic cone in the Long Valley area. The mountain was built by at least 12 eruptions of thick lava flows and steep domes 200,000-50,000 years ago.
