The Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with Fishlake National Forest (FNF) and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is proposing improvements to Utah Forest Highway 29 (UT FH 29) near the town of Beaver, UT as shown in the project location map. Utah Forest Highway (FH) 29 is located in Beaver and Piute Counties. The route is also designated as Utah State Route 153 (SR-153) and is also known as the Beaver to Junction Road. The route begins at a junction with SR-160 in Beaver and proceeds 40.5 miles easterly to the junction with US 89 in Junction Utah. The section of route from Beaver east to Puffer Lake is designated as the Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway.
This project is the reconstruction of segment 3 (milepost 12.3 to 14.2). This 2 mile segment ends at the Merchant Valley Dam.

The work for this project will include the full reconstruction of the roadway within this segment including changes to the horizontal and vertical alignments to best fit into the terrain. Improvements will include the construction of retaining walls, drainage improvements, earthwork, paving, and the relocation of the water penstock. |
