Census Advisory Committees were formed by the Secretary of
Commerce to provide an organized and continuing channel of
communication between the American people and the U.S. Census
Bureau on efforts to reduce the differential undercount for
all population groups during Census 2000 and on ways census
data can be disseminated to the American public for maximum
usefulness.
