NOTE: This news release provides corrected information about the business operations of Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, Inc.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Labor today announced a partnership with Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, Inc. to assist in training, recruiting and hiring automotive glass installers and other personnel in New York and five other states. The partnership is a result of the Employment and Training Administration's Partnerships for Jobs initiative.

"The Partnerships for Jobs initiative was created to build bridges between businesses and job seekers in local communities," said Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training Emily Stover DeRocco. "These business partnerships link large, national employers with local One-Stop Career Centers, demonstrating how a demand-driven workforce system can more efficiently serve the workforce needs of business, while also effectively helping workers find good jobs at good wages."

After successful recruitment efforts in partnership with the Kingston, Pa., One-Stop Career Center, Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, Inc. is seeking to expand its relationship with other local One-Stops to screen and recruit candidates for the company's numerous field employment opportunities.

"We look forward to our collaboration with the Department of Labor and our national partnership to create new avenues for identifying qualified candidates to become part of our future growth and success," said Michael A. Sumsky, president, chief financial officer and general counsel for Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, Inc. "For those who are interested in a career that offers professional growth and income potential, Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, Inc. provides great opportunities for long-term successful careers."

As part of the partnership announcement, Diamond Triumph kicked off a weeklong rollout, July 28 - August 1. One-Stop Center representatives toured local company offices and exchanged information with branch managers about company openings and benefits, and the business services offered by the public workforce system. The resulting partnership will coordinate recruitment and hiring efforts in six states: Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Diamond Glass is a national industry leader in automotive repair and replacement, and provides quality installations, automotive glass replacement safety, and customer service to commercial businesses, insurance companies and private vehicle owners. The company currently has 276 branch locations in 46 states, six distribution centers and two call centers.

The company's New York locations include: Albany, Hicksville, Queensbury/Hudson Falls, Kingston, Lynbrook, Middletown, Monroe, Mt. Kisco, Nanuet, Newburgh, Pelham, Plattsburgh, Riverhead, Smithtown, and Wappingers Falls.
