RESPONSIBILITIES
Civil Rights Office:
- Notify Administrator's Council of opportunity.
- Notify Area Civil Rights Managers of opportunities for Scholars.
- Review student applications and forward applications with requested
discipline to new supervisor.
- Obtain approval/acceptance and five year commitment for selected
student from the Area Director(AD)/Supervisor.
- Call student and parents to welcome into program.
- Send welcome letter and information about Orientation to selected
student, with a cc to the HRD Scholars Program Coordinator,
supervisor, Area/Location management official, Location Administrative
Officer, Area Civil Rights Manager, and 1890 Liaison Officer.
- Advise supervisor of responsibility to complete travel paperwork
for transportation to/from Orientation and to/from duty station/residence.
- Forward HRD Scholars Program Coordinator copy of student's application,
Federal employment application and transcript.
- Prepare service agreement, forward to Liaison Officer via FED-EX.
- Forward original fully signed service agreement to HRD Scholars Program
Coordinator for filing in OPF. Forward copy of fully signed service
agreement to Liaison Officer, Supervisor and National 1890 Program
Managers.
- Transfer funding for the student to the official supervisor through a sub-account. Funding provided covers costs such as tuition, salary, attendance at conferences or meetings.
