Welcome to the New Employee Orientation website. There is much for you to learn as a new employee and I believe you will find this site a useful resource. In addition to being a new employee, you are a new customer to Administrative and Financial Management (AFM) and we welcome the opportunity to assist you.
AFM is dedicated to providing world class customer service to the USDA Research, Education, and Economics (REE) agencies. Those agencies are the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), Economic Research Service ( ERS), and the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Each of these agencies plays an important role in supporting the USDA mission. ARS is the internal scientific research arm of USDA. CSREES serves as the primary link between USDA, the Land Grant University System, and the Extension System. ERS provides economic research data used by the Secretary of Agriculture to make policy decisions. NASS collects, analyzes, and distributes statistical data for use by a variety of stakeholders. AFM handles the administrative burden so these agencies can focus on their important and critical missions.
