What This Rating Means

PERFORMING
Effective

This is the highest rating a program can achieve. Programs rated Effective set ambitious goals, achieve results, are well-managed and improve efficiency.
  • The program is effective in providing comprehensive data on the U.S. economy. It is the only organization that produces economic statistics such as GDP, personal income and balance of payments, and effectively consults with the other federal agencies that provide the source data for its statistics.
  • The program has seven performance measures that are updated and reviewed annually, and has established ambitious annual targets. The program also consults with its advisory committee twice a year and conducts a customer satisfaction survey of its data users annually to ensure that it is meeting the needs of its users.

Improvement Plan

About Improvement Plans
