Employment, education, earnings—4 years after graduating, the college class of 1993 had them all. And at better proportions than 1 year after graduating.

Four years after earning their bachelor’s degrees, members of the class of 1993 were more settled in the labor force than they were 1 year after graduation. By 1997, a larger proportion was employed full time and had jobs requiring a bachelor’s degree, fewer were enrolled full time in graduate school, and most had earned at least one-third more than they had in 1994. 

These findings are results from 1994 and 1997 surveys of the college graduating class of 1993. Conducted by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics, the latest survey is the second in a series of followup studies planned for the class of 1993.
