Hires rates by region, November 2006 and November 2007

From November 2006 to November 2007, the hires rate decreased in the South region and in the West region.

Hires are any additions to the payroll during the month. The hires rate is computed by dividing the number of hires by employment and multiplying that quotient by 100.

In the South, the hires rate fell from 3.6 percent in November 2006 to 3.3 percent in November 2007. The hires rate in the West declined from 3.8 percent in November 2006 to 3.1 percent in November 2007.
