Dental Hygienist, GS-682-6/7/8. Dental Hygienists provide routine and advanced prophylactic and therapeutic dental care to the inmate population. They are also responsible for planning and directing the preventative dental health program.

Qualifications: Applicants must be currently licensed to practice as dental hygienists in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia. Applicants must possess specialized experience performing oral prophylactic care and in providing oral health education services to patients. They must also possess experience performing advanced oral prophylactic, therapeutic, and preventative procedures in cases of periodontal diseases or inflammation or on patients with other medical or dental problems; placing temporary fillings; and finishing amalgam restorations.
