Applied Research Program in Nutrition

The Program conducts applied research to: 1) Real-time quality control analyses of commercially produced fish feeds used at Pacific and California/Nevada Regions' 18 National Fish Hatcheries; 2) Detect and develop response to contaminants in commercial fish feeds, hatchery fish and the hatchery environment; 3) Improve water quality through the manipulation of fish feed formulas; 4) Assist with the recovery of species held in refugia under the Endangered Species Act through the development of species-specific diets.
