Content Partnership Program
About the Business.gov Content Partners Program
The Business Gateway Content Partners Program works collaboratively with industry, trade associations and other government agencies to produce authoritative tools and resources that help small business owners comply with government regulations and industry standards.
Program Benefits
Many industry organizations help business owners understand their legal and regulatory requirements by producing authoritative, helpful how-to guides. Unfortunately, this quality, authoritative information is often difficult to find even by the most sophisticated search engines. Business.gov cuts through the clutter by providing a guide to official and authoritative resources.
Using Business.gov as a platform for publishing and sharing regulatory guidance helps Partners to:
- Build trusting, cooperative relationships with the Business Gateway Initiative, including the U.S. Small Business Administration.
- Leverage resources to maximize regulatory compliance and to encourage adoption of industry standards.
- Gain recognition as proactive leaders in assisting the nation's small businesses.
- Network with others committed to helping small businesses comply with regulations.
- Extend the reach of their organization as an information resource by working collaboratively with Business.gov, the only official site on the web devoted to helping small businesses comply with government regulations.
Becoming a Partner
If your organization produces resources that help small businesses comply with federal, state, and/or local regulations, the Business Gateway team wants to hear from you. The Business Gateway team will also consider partnering with organizations that either produce or promote compliance with industry standards, particularly if those industry standards augment government regulations.
Potential Content Partners are chosen based on:
- Nature of the organization.
- Nature of the information and services offered by the organization.
- Industry or business area highly regulated
- Quality of the information and services provided.
- Reputation of the organization in the business community.
Business.gov is currently working with its first Content Partner, the Electronic Transactions Association, to create content on the regulatory issues of electronic transactions such as the use of credit, debit, and gift cards. Further partnerships are being explored.
