Incenter Strategies Releases New Publications on Adolescent Health

 

The executive directors of the Maternal and Child Health Policy Research Center have created a new affiliate, Incenter Strategies, to focus on adolescent health care. Four new publications are available on racial and ethnic disparities on adolescents and older adolescents, possibilities for restructuring Medicaid to be more responsive to adolescents' unique needs, and making the case for adolescent health care reform. Incenter Strategies will be focusing on building partnerships and promoting interdisciplinary models of health care to improve the accessibility and availability of health care for adolescents.

 

Pediatric Subspecialty Work Group Identifies Promising State and Regional Approaches to Extend Access to Pediatric Subspecialty Care

Collaborative opportunities for addressing pediatric subspecialty access problems and fragmentation between primary and specialty care are identified, including early identification and treatment, communication and shared management support, education, quality improvement, financial incentives, and affiliations and partnerships.

 

 

Public and Private Insurance
The MCH Policy Research Center conducts research and policy analysis on Medicaid, SCHIP, and private health insurance and examines the impact of managed care arrangements. (more)

Public Programs
The Center devotes significant resources to examining public programs such asTitle V, early intervention, WIC, and substance and mental health service programs for children, adolescents, and their families. (more)

Special Populations
Research conducted at the Center addresses the unique service delivery

and financing problems of adolescents, young children, children with specialhealth problems, and children with behavioral health conditions. (more)

Subspecialty Capacity
The Center provides staff support to the Federal Expert Work Group on Pediatric Subspecialty Capacity and conducts research and planning activities on pediatric subspecialty workforce issues, including identifying promising practices to strengthen the interface between primary and specialty pediatric care.
