Scientific Services Division

The Scientific Services Division (SSD) provides comprehensive technical support to all TTB programs.  SSD carries out its mission through the operation of four laboratories:

  • Announcing TTB Expo 2009
    Save the date! We have already started planning for TTB Expo 2009.  It will be held June 24 – 26, 2009, back at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky, just minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.  Read more. 
  • TTB Establishes New Lab to Reenergize Tobacco Program
    The Scientific Services Division established the Tobacco Laboratory in January 2008 to address the increased the demand for technical support from TTB program offices in tobacco product classification, rulemaking projects, and the enforcement of tobacco regulations.  Read more. (05/06/08)
