Consumer Price Index
The
All Items Consumer Price Index for the month of November 2007 registered
an increase of 0.4 percent when compared to the previous month, and an
increase of 5.0 percent when compared to the same month of last year.

Migration and Visitors
The total International Arrival Statistics recorded for the month of July 2007,
took a tumbled of 11.3 percent over the previous month (June 2007) and a dwindled of 12.4 percent over
the corresponding month of July 2006 in-contrast to a slight decreased of 3.1 percent 2006 over the
preceding year 2005.

Annual Statistical Abstract 2005
This is the 37th series of Annual Statistical publication produced by the Department of Statistics. It
presents annual aggregated statistical information collected and compiled by the Department pertaining to
social, economic, environment and other detailed subject matters

News and Events
Census of Population and Housing - 2006
Enumeration has been completed. Preliminary counts of the results showed total persons counted were
179,186 with males 92,961 and females 86,225. Compared to last census conducted in 2001, country's population
grew by 1.4%.
Preliminary Report
Institutional Strengthening Project (ISP)
A comprehensive review of the Statistics Department is currently underway undertaken by a consultant and
funded by Public Sector Implementation Facility (PSIF). The review aimed at examining and reporting
on the existing capability and producing strategic plans for improvements to the Statistics Department. Based on
the outcome of the review, the Institutional Strengthening Project (ISP) will be designed.
A report on the review is currently with the Government authorities for approval.
This website will continue to provide updates on the progress of this very important project.
