A collaborative effort among statisticians at USDA/ARS, DOI/USFWS & DOI/USGS

March 15 & 16, 2006

Intended audience: Researchers that want an introduction to analyses that incorporate spatial information. These will not be overly technical presentations---we are aiming for understanding concepts. The workshop is designed for researchers at USDA/ARS, USGS, and USFW.

  • Characterizing spatial dependencies
  • Kriging and other techniques for geostatistical data
  • Spatial count data
  • Point process data
  • Experimental design for spatial data
  • Diagnostics
  • Combining multi-scale spatial data
  • Lattice designs
  • Software
Presentations:
  • Keynote address: Jay Ver Hoef

  • Topics will be presented by faculty from various universities; USDA, USGS USFW statisticians and scientists

  • Fully explained examples will be given for each topic

  • Hard copies of all presentations will be collected into a workshop manual and distributed to participants
