BANK ROBBER PLEADS GUILTY
RALEIGH- United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced that in federal court yesterday TIMOTHY HUGH LINDSEY, 41, of Raleigh, North Carolina, entered his guilty plea before United States District Judge W. Earl Britt.
A Federal Grand Jury returned a Criminal Indictment on April 2, 2008, charging bank robbery, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a), which has a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years supervised release.
On November 20, 2007, LINDSEY entered the Wachovia Bank on Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, walked up to a teller and passed a note. The teller then gave LINDSEY the money. LINDSEY then left the bank.
Investigation of the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Raleigh Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ethan Ontjes served as prosecutor for the government.
