Transportation, Warehousing and UtilitiesInput: Economic FactorsEstimated costs of occupational injuries within the Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities (TWU) Sector for 1992-2002, nearly $900 million annually, were second only to the Construction Sector. These data clearly justify a need for strong occupational safety and health initiatives within the TWU sector. NIOSH Fatal Occupational Injury Cost Fact Sheet: Transportation, Communications, Electric, Gas, and Sanitary Services Note: Data in the above document are based on the 1987 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC).
