Cody BLM Releases McCullough Peaks Wild Horse Gather
Environmental Assessment for Public Comment

The Cody Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is asking the public to review and comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed McCullough Peaks wild horse gather and fertility control implementation located in Park and Big Horn Counties, Wyoming. The proposed gather is expected to proceed during the fall of 2008 or thereafter and is subject to the availability of funding, weather, or other factors.

Cody Field Manager Mike Stewart said "We have identified four alternatives for inclusion in the EA aimed at addressing the wild horse gather issues, including the use of fertility control. Now we need to give the public the opportunity to comment on the analysis of these alternatives." The EA is available by visiting the BLM website at:

http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/cyfodocs/mcculloughpeakshma.html

Copies may also be obtained by contacting the Cody Field Office at (307) 578-5900.

Reviewers will have 30 days to comment. Comments should be addressed to Patricia L. Hatle, BLM-Cody Field Office, P.O. Box 518, Cody, WY 82414 and postmarked no later than October 20, 2008. Comments can also be e-mailed to cody_wymail@blm.gov.
