April 3, 2008 Contact:     Kathi Fine 307-352-0292    Stephanie Anderson 307-352-0208            BLM Rock Springs announces temporary closure  of wild horse corrals  The BLM Rock Springs wild horse corrals will be temporarily closed to the public from April 7 through April 17, 2008, while cleaning operations are underway. Heavy equipment and other machinery will be in use during cleaning operations, necessitating the closure due to safety concerns.  After the temporary closure is lifted, a waterline at the corrals will be replaced. This project will take approximately 150 days to complete. During this time, a minimal number of wild horses will be held at the corrals and none will be available for adoption. Wild horse adoptions will resume in the early fall.
