BLM Reminds Public to Submit Photos for
 Share the Experience Photo Contest

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Worland Field Office reminds the public that there are two months remaining in the Share the Experience Federal Recreation Lands Photo Contest. Photographs taken on BLM or other federal lands may be submitted until Dec. 31, 2008. The grand prize includes an Olympus E-3 digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera kit and a trip for four to a federal recreation land of the winner's choice.

"The Bighorn Basin is full of picturesque vistas, wildlife, and historic landmarks," BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Paul Rau said. "Whether you spend time hiking, hunting or exploring the rich western history, you've probably taken some great pictures along the way." To qualify, photographs must have been taken on BLM, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, or U.S. Forest Service land.

Citizens and legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age can enter by submitting up to three photos online at www.sharetheexperience.org or via mail in a hand-written, stamped envelope to:

Share the Experience Official Federal Recreation Lands Photo Contest
c/o ePrize, LLC
PO Box 8070
Royal Oak, MI 48068

Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2008, and received by the close of business on Jan. 8, 2009. Each envelope must include only one entry. All photos will be judged on creativity, photographic quality, visual appeal, appropriateness, and the ability to show the diversity and richness of the Federal Recreation Lands. All photos must be original creations and submitted by the original photographer.

Additionally, the public will be able to view an online photo gallery of 2008 submissions from Jan. 9-16, 2009, and vote for their favorites from Jan. 17-31, 2009.

The Share the Experience Federal Recreation Lands Photo Contest is sponsored annually by Olympus and the National Park Foundation. For the official rules, to submit photos, or to see a list of the many prizes, visit www.sharetheexperience.org.
